D.A. King, an anti-immigrant bigot, filed a complaint in July with the Georgia Immigration Enforcement Review Board that accused 1,214 government agencies in the state of failing to provide information to the state Department of Audits and Accounts to allow it to determine whether they’re subject to HB87. Another pathetic outcome of HB87 that wastes our taxpayer's money and limited public resources.
Among the local and county agencies that King cited are in violation (according to him and no one else), which is unsupported by any evidence, are: Cobb Solid Waste Management Authority, Housing Authority of Cobb, Housing Authority of Acworth, and other agencies. The list is long.
The overall list does contains a number of cities in Georgia and many agencies, which in some counties, like Cobb, are simply boards whose members are volunteers charged with providing recommendations and typically do not staff employees (and thus exempt from the E-verify requirement).
How the useless Immigration Enforcement Review Board will act upon this complaint remains to be seen.

Karen, why is it bigotry to insist that a duly-enacted law be enforced? Obviously, you don't agree with the law, but why insult those that do? You might support public funding of abortion, but would it be right for me to call you a heartless baby killer?
ReplyDeleteFurther, you accuse King for unilaterally condemning the agencies for violating the filing requirements, but it was the Department of Audits and Accounts, not King, who pointed out the indisputable fact that those on the list had not filed correctly.
Contribute something positive to the public discussion of illegal immigration and its impact on our state. Explain to me, for example, how the economic benefit of illegal aliens working in Georgia justifies ignoring federal law.
Then, just for kicks and giggles, justify your own bigotry-- your intolerance for King, who simply holds an opinion different from yours (which is the definition of "bigotry," by the way).
Illegal aliens aren't "immigrants." Illegal aliens are criminals and parasites, one and all. Practically everything they do on U.S. soil is illegal. They need to be ferreted out, rounded up like cattle, punished for their numerous crimes, then booted back to whence they snuck in from with such extreme prejudice that they will never, ever think of violating our sovereignty again. Build a wall and deport 'em all. Enough is enough.
